We also like movies (a lot) so we noticed that this year for the first time Waves Vienna Music Festival got it’s own Film Festival going on, the Waves Film Fest from 29th of September till 1st of October. We smell some SXSW development here, and we like it :) Let’s see how long it takes to add the interactive & media conference part too.
But now to something completely different:
the Movies:
There is a focus on the work of british filmmaker Jonathan Glazer, he did also some music videos for Nick Cave, Blur, Massive Attack or Jamiroquai. His latest work was the movie “Under the Skin” with Scarlett Johansson.
You might heard of it. The one where she kills a lot of guys.
All his three movies “Birth”, “Sexy Beast” and “Under the Skin” will be shown at the Festival, plus a selection of Glazers music videos will be shown before the movies.
The “Sexy Beast” poster looks quite promising.
Other main features of the festival will be a south-east Europe film special and a voting by the audience to select their favorite car movie from a short list of 10 films. The winner will be shown on Tuesday, 30th of September at Gartenbau Kino. Cool Idea, so let’s vote.

Tickets will be only 6€ for every movie, which is quite cool. And you can find the full program here.
