We like to recommend you a concert of the fabulous Peter Weibel with his band the Hotel Morphila Orchester. This is one of the very rare occasions to see them performing. The band consists of Peter Weibel (vocals), Loys Egg (rhythm guitar), Paul Braunsteiner (solo guitar), Franz Dorfner (base) and Didi Kern (drums).

As we recently visited the exhibition of Peter Weibel in the 21er Haus, Vienna, and already really liked this piece of Austrian music history is quite important to us.

As well we had the chance to see a concert of Didi Kern and Philipp Quehenberger, when they were performing an exclusive show for the christmas party of Rokko’s Adventures magazine.

The concert in the 21er Haus on the 10th of January 2015 at 7 pm is also a revival of a legendary gig of the band that took place in March 1980 in the 20er Haus.

During this performance Peter Weibel’s coat was set on fire and he continued playing as a burning man. The band was founded in 1978, Peter Weibel was in charge of the lyrics. The idea of music as an instrument to alter consciousness and the state of mind fascinated him extremely, he saw music as an extended art form.

The band has been performing in various formations ever since, with a mixture of Crazy Crash music, Neon Rock or simply “clinic music for all kinds of patients,” as Peter Weibel phrases it.

The concert is for free with a valid exhibition ticket. (7€ for Adults)
