February selection of the “Hot Stuff”

Here you go:  our selection of new music for February 2014!

Trying to pick tracks released in this particular last month is our main goal, but sometimes we just find new artists that we haven’t heard before and wanna add them to our list.

Slightly off topic but Spike Jonze finally won an OSCAR!!! And so we have to start the list with Karen O and Ezra Koenig. Ginga, an upcoming Austrian band that is ready for take off (they’re getting better and better)! Chino Moreno is also back in the game (for quite some time, but I just realized it now:) with Crosses. My personal favorites from February are the Young Fathers, Cheatahs, Cloud Boat and Sun Kil Moon.

The Cheatahs have a special place in my heart. When we were at Primavera Festival in Barcelona 2013 we just caught like the last 2 minutes of their concert. So it was basically just the last few chords and some guitar feedback fadeout. But their sound and the last bits of lyrics immediately caught my attention and I spent the next 30 minutes at the venue to find out which amazing band I just missed.
