A full blast of artsy music is coming up in a few days. The Donaufestival is taking place again in the picturesque small city Krems in lower Austria on two weekends from 24th of April - 26th April / 30th April - 2nd May 2015. It’s the 11th year for the music and art festival and to borrow some words from Pitchfork:

“donaufestival (…) is one of the most progressive arts festivals in Europe.” pitchfork.com (USA)

Beyond all genre borders the festival offers theatre, performative innovations, interactive art, installations and of course music, to glue everything together.

As usual you can hear and see quite special acts in Krems and the biggest names for us this year are

  • ARCA

  • Godspeed You! Black Emperor

  • Nils Frahm

  • Scott Matthew

  • Autechre

  • Planningtorock

  • James Holden

  • Ben Frost, and many more…

Check out the full lineup here.

If you have never been there you should definitely check it out. The festival and the visitors create a special kind of atmosphere by avoiding the bookings of crowd pleasing acts every year.

All the art performances, interesting venues and things going on besides the music add a special flavor which is almost impossible to see at other festivals.

You can get your Tickets here (starting from 33€ per day).

To get in the right mood, here is the official trailer for the Donaufestival 2015:

We will go for Nils Frahm cause we haven’t seen him perform since Primavera 2013 and he is absolutely amazing, as you can see here in this video
